This article analyzes Mahmudhoja Behbudi's educational views and their socio-pedagogical significance in developing the pedagogical thinking of future teachers. It highlights ideas related to the continuity of education and upbringing, new-method schools, science and enlightenment, national identity, native language and national values, independent thinking, social activity, and the teacher's role in the development of society. Furthermore, Behbudi's views are based on the possibilities of future teachers in analyzing pedagogical phenomena in connection with social processes, independently evaluating pedagogical situations, making pedagogical decisions, reflective evaluation of their own activities, and forming professional responsibility. The article reveals the methodological significance of Behbudi's enlightenment heritage in developing the social, axiological, analytical, and reflexive components of pedagogical thinking.
